Break Through

Pioneers

In early 20th century, automotive industry made a big break through. Many automotive industries started production of motor-cabs. Cadillac in U.S, London Express Motor Service in England,
Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft in Germany, Olds Mobile in U.S. For many decades U.S.A. led world in total automobile production and out classed the other automotive producers. However the known pioneers were few.

Ignac Sustala:

In 1850 Ignac Sustala founded a company which was not a vehicle manufacturing company then named Schustala & Company which in Koprivnice, Czech Republic later became Tatra. In 1897 they announced themselves to be motor vehicle manufacturers. The following year they produced the first motor car in central Europe and one of the first cars in world by the name of  Präsident.

Ransom E. Olds:

The same year, 1987, Sustala was not left alone as another producer emerged in U.S.A. Using the assembly line techniques pioneered by Marc Isambard Brunel the large scale production-line manufacturing of affordable automobiles was debuted by R.Eli Olds in 1902 at his Oldsmobile factory (a former automotive production company, 1897-2004) located in Michigan. However he did not make much use of the technology of interchangeable

parts given by Thomas Blanchard. Another interesting
thing about Olds is that he was also famous for his auto
racing on the beaches of Florida.

Henry Ford:

When we talk about automotive industry pioneers, the first name that strikes our minds is Henry Ford. He was a big supported of Thomas Blanchard's Interchangeable parts theory which helped him making much father cars than the ones made by Olds Mobile. This theory was very much expanded by him in 1914 Ultimately, Ford's cars were successful than Ransom Olds' cars. However the first known car that he produced was named Cadillac in the year 1903. There were also Dodge brothers and other investors involved with him as
partners, still the commonly known figure is Henry
Ford.
